On Thursday, February 11th, the Superintendent, Chief Financial Officer, and two members of the school board conducted a question and answer session with the public. This video includes a video introduction, a presentation of public resources on the budget, and the answering of public questions.

Tuesday will be a full snow day in Springfield School District.

In this video, the superintendent explains the community COVID data that is tracked by the district, shows the new place to find this data on the website, and discusses how this information will influence decision making.

With crews needing more time to dig out from today's massive storm, we won't be able to open schools tomorrow. Friday will be a traditional snow day, and schools will resume their normal schedule on Monday.

No school tomorrow in Springfield due to snow. This is just a normal snow day. We hope you get off your computer and head outside to enjoy the snow.

The district was notified of a positive case last night and has been collaborating with the Department of Health. The superintendent supplies more information in the attached letter.

As we have closed out the first quarter, the district needs families to decide which instructional model they will commit to for each student in their household. While previous surveys have asked for you to indicate a preference. This one asks you to commit to a choice of three paths: remote-only learning, two in-person/three remote days, or four in-person/1 remote days. While the trends with the virus and a district preference for in-person instruction will influence decision-making, this choice would otherwise be locked in for the foreseeable future. We are targeting January as the potential switching period. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE CAN NOT GUARANTEE YOUR FIRST CHOICE.
